Madelia business owners, employees and the community have been greatly affected by the devastating fire that destroyed and damaged a large portion of Main Street in the early morning hours of February 3rd, 2016. While the losses suffered will have a long-term impact on the community, Madelia will stay strong and rebuild. In response to the outpouring of support, a fund has been set up to help all of those affected by the fire.

Region 9 Area, Inc. has partnered with Madelia Strong, Inc. to be a fiscal sponsor.
*As Region Nine Development Commission's non-profit arm, Region Nine Area Inc. (RNAI) is able to collect donations which can then be eligible for a tax-deductible benefit to the donor.
Madelia Strong, Inc. (MSI) is a non-profit organization that was formed locally to administer financial relief to those affected by the fire. MSI, along with the Madelia Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Madelia and Watonwan County Emergency Management will be working with the businesses affected by the fire. MSI is an organized public charity and will be seeking 501(c)(3) status through the Internal Revenue Service.
All proceeds received will benefit the businesses and individuals affected by the fire and mitigate the disastrous losses incurred.
