Watona Park –

The Watona Park in Madelia truly has something for everyone. From disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes, baseball and softball to fishing, canoeing, walking, and scouting birds you can surely find it all here. There are two playgrounds and several picnic shelters for you to enjoy time with your friends and family. The park is located along the Watonwan River and adjacent to the Madelia Golf Course, Campground and within walking distance of the outdoor pool with waterslide.

Fedji Lake –Take Hwy 15 North out of Madelia approximately two miles and then turn right on 280th Street – approximately three miles –

There is a public boat landing, dock, and walking trail. Enjoy fishing, canoeing, birding or just skipping rocks.
 

Other Area Lakes – Within a short drive to Lake Crystal, Hanska, or St James you can find several other lakes that offer water skiing, fishing, swimming beaches, and more.
 

Hub to Miles of Groomed Trails – Madelia is the hub to several hundred miles of groomed snowmobile and cross country ski trails. In the summer enjoy walking them and scouting out birds and unique plant life.

One of the most enjoyed museums in the area. The Watonwan County Historical Center offers two buildings with several displays that include Madelia’s original log post office, a covered wagon dating back to the 1800’s, a horse drawn hearse, two headed calf, several artifacts and antiques all displayed uniquely in old time settings. The historical center has just completed a large addition that will house a library, genealogy center, and several other displays. Groups are welcome and encouraged to visit but please call ahead to check on hours
